‘Gig to Earn’ Pays Musicians For Live Virtual Performances on JOOX Music App
Live performances are the mainstay of artists to become famous and to earn a living. Fans also can’t wait to see their favourite musicians perform their next gig. There is nothing quite like a live performance of your favourite artist or band. Life wouldn’t be as colourful or entertaining without our musicians whose songs cheer us up, help us celebrate with friends and more.
The current national lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic has cut off many musicians from earning income from their gigs, until now. JOOX found an innovative way to support South African artists in these challenging times by launching the ‘Gig to Earn’ campaign. Why? JOOX wants to play our part to reinvigorate the economy by supporting South African musicians.
Artists will enjoy 30-minute-long virtual performances that are streamed live to their fans via the JOOX Music App’s live video streaming feature. Musicians will be paid R1,500 for each live appearance.
Many of South Africa’s established artists are enthusiastic about performing live on the JOOX app, such as Ami Faku, Ammara Brown, Bigstar Johnson, Cassper Nyovest, Charlize Berg, Chronical Deep, Dala Fam, Dr Malinga, Holly Rey, Juan Casey, Lee Scott, Manu Worldstar, Touchline and Vee Mampeezy.
How do artists sign up to ‘Gig to Earn’?
Signing up is easy. Artists apply to have their live performances via the JOOX ‘Gig to Earn’ website. Musicians will be sent a booking form with all the details of their 30-minute live gig once submissions have been reviewed. The JOOX team has created guideline and best practice tips to get artists started.
