South Africa is blessed with award-winning artists. The Soweto Gospel Choir has won 2 Grammys in the Traditional World Music Album category out of 2 nominations. Another South African is a Grammy Award winner. Wouter Kellerman won a Grammy for Best New Age Album in 2015.

Other South African musicians have been nominated for Grammys. Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Johnny Clegg, and Savuka have all been nominated for a Grammy Award.

Rihanna is a world-class star. Did you know that Riri has won a staggering 9 Grammy awards from a mammoth 33 nominations? Rihanna has also achieved a world first. She has won a total of 5 Grammys in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category, a first for any female artist.
